Modern war.
Real-time strategy.
Build your base. Fight over money, oil and energy. Command hundreds of units on land, in the air and at sea, in real-time battles made for your phone.
Place buildings anywhere. Drop a new Command Centre beside a distant deposit to grab it first, and wall it in.
US, Russia and China, each with its own strengths, signature units and a support power to call in.
Hundreds of units on screen at once, with graphics settings from Low to Ultra for every phone.

Desert, city, sea, islands, ruins and mountains, each in three sizes for 4 to 8 players.

Day and night, rain, fog, sandstorms and snow, and a year that turns to winter. The weather changes how far you see and how straight you shoot.
Shipyards on any shore, submarines, aircraft carriers, landing raids and coastal guns.

Build a Tech Centre, research Advanced Tech and ten upgrades, then call in an air strike, a barrage or drones.

A guided first battle, auto-save with CONTINUE, and options for slower double taps, a bigger HUD, colour-blind colours and less flashing.
Free to play. Never pay-to-win. Testing starts on Google Play with players from the Discord.
Simple to learn, deep to master. Every match is a fight over the map's resources, and it ends only when one side is wiped out.

The controls and your first five minutes, step by step.
All three nations field tanks, infantry, jets, helicopters and ships. What changes is quality, cost and numbers, plus signature units and a support power each. Scroll and each unit turns on the stand; drag it to look closer.
Aircraft 20% tougher and harder-hitting, the Stealth Bomber that enemies only see up close, and the Amphibious Assault Ship.
Support power: Air Strike
Rocket Artillery that hits harder and further, long-range Anti-Air, the Long-range Missile System and the Missile Cruiser.
Support power: Artillery Barrage
Jets and helicopters about 30% cheaper and faster to build, Drone Swarms, and Fast Attack Craft and Drone Boats that come in groups.
Support power: Summon Drones
Numbers come straight from the game files and are first-pass: balancing will change them. Speed is in metres a second and damage is per hit. Needs is what the tech tree asks for first (with TECH TREE off in the match options, everything is open from the start). US aircraft are about 20% tougher and hit harder; China's are about 30% cheaper and quicker to build.
How well each weapon does against each kind of target, by the same rule as the info card in the game: Best = its strongest targets, Weak = half damage or less. Units that do about as well against everything show Good across the board. Tap a target to see what to bring against it.
Light vehicles include the small boats (Patrol Boat, Landing Craft, Fast Attack Craft, Drone Boats); tanks include the Destroyer, the Submarine and the big ships, which are just as heavily armoured. A dived Submarine can only be hit by torpedoes, Attack Helicopters and the depth charges every Destroyer and Patrol Boat carries. The Engineer Team, Transport Helicopter, Landing Craft and Assault Ship carry no weapons. More about the defences in the buildings guide.
Unlocked with Advanced Tech. Tap POWER, then tap the map (or hold the minimap) on ground you have explored. Each power charges for 2 minutes between uses, and a red warning ring shows the strike to anyone who can see the spot. With TECH TREE off, the first charge is ready 5 minutes in.

Two jets fly in from behind your base and bomb a 36 m line over the spot. Anti-Air can shoot them down, and a jet shot down drops nothing.

A red flare marks the spot, and 4 seconds later guns far behind your lines drop 20 shells within 14 m of it in 5 seconds. Nothing can stop it once it's called, so move out of the ring.

Two Drone Swarms take off from your Drone Command Centre and attack the spot for 45 seconds, then blow up. It needs a finished Drone Command Centre.
Every map is built in a mirror, so both sides start equal. Pick a size to see where each base starts and what there is to fight over, and the weather to see it by night, in a storm or in winter.

Testing starts on Google Play with players from the Discord. Join to get in early, report bugs and help shape the game.

A guided first battle in 16 steps, and a power for each nation: the US Air Strike, Russia's Artillery Barrage and China's Summon Drones. Plus easier controls, REPORT A BUG and sharper Ultra graphics.

Build a Tech Centre, research Advanced Tech and ten upgrades. The year now turns during a match, lakes freeze and thaw, and your battle saves itself every two minutes.

Alpine Village, with a lake you can cross when it freezes, and Fjord Valley, where navies fight in two fjords and rivers freeze in winter.

Day and night, rain and rainstorms, fog, sandstorms and snow, and weather that changes the fight: shorter sight, wilder shots and searchlights in the dark.

A ruined downtown where rubble is for soldiers only, tower ruins hold three squads and ash storms roll through the streets.
Submarines and Aircraft Carriers for everyone, the US Assault Ship, Russia's Missile Cruiser and China's Fast Attack Craft and Drone Boats, and AI admirals who use them.

Two maps built for the sea: bridges over a desert strait, and islands joined by fords, with riches you can only reach by sea or air.

Patrol Boats and Destroyers for every nation, a Shipyard on any shore, and Coastal Batteries that guard the sea.
A fighter that hunts aircraft, even the Stealth Bomber, and a helicopter that carries two squads across the map.
An announcer, unit replies for all three nations in male and female voices, and music that rises with the fighting.
What's in the game, what's being built now and what comes after early access.
The whole game is free, expansions included. If you enjoy it, a supporter badge keeps new maps, units and features coming.

Prices, phones, offline play, online play and testing: the short answers are in the FAQ.
The controls, then your first five minutes step by step. New to the game? Play the TUTORIAL from the main menu: a guided first battle in 16 steps against an enemy that never attacks. Everything here is in the game today; numbers are first-pass and may change with balancing.
You start with a Command Centre, two Engineer Teams, a few units and $5,000. Your money, oil and power are along the top of the screen.
Select an Engineer Team and the build menu opens (tabs Base, Army, Defence). Pick a Power Plant, drag the see-through outline (green fits, red doesn't) and tap ✓; the Engineers build it. Short of power, everything works at half speed.
Put a Mine on a money deposit ($100 every 5 s) and an Oil Rig on an oil site (10 oil every 5 s). They never run dry. Basic units cost only money; tanks and aircraft also need oil.
A Vehicle Factory makes vehicles and Barracks train infantry squads. Select the building and tap a card to queue a unit (up to 9); tap its ×n badge to cancel and get your money back. Later: an Airfield for helicopters and jets, a Shipyard on the shore for ships. Tanks, Anti-Air and the Airfield need a Tech Centre first.
Send an Engineer Team to a neutral building and tap it: after 6 seconds it's yours, and the team is used up. Bank Vault: $600 a minute. Radar Tower: enemies on your minimap. Repair Depot: repairs your units nearby. Train more Engineers at the Command Centre.
Turrets, walls with gates and bunkers for your infantry keep raiders out. You can only build near a Command Centre, so to claim a distant deposit, build a new Command Centre beside it.
Destroy every enemy building. You're out when all of yours are gone, or when you have no Command Centre and no Engineers left to build one.

The heart of a base. Trains Engineer Teams, and you can only build near one. To claim a far-off deposit, build another Command Centre beside it.

Makes power for your base. Use more than you make and everything works at half speed, so build these first.

Goes on a money deposit and earns $100 every 5 seconds. Deposits never run dry.

Goes on an oil site and pumps 10 oil every 5 seconds: the oil that tanks, aircraft and ships cost.

Goes on a sea oil site anywhere on the map and pumps half as much again as an Oil Rig. Engineers build it from the deck of a Landing Craft. The first sea oil comes with the Strait map.

Trains Rifle, Rocket and AA Squads.

Builds IFVs and Scout Cars from the start, Tanks and Anti-Air once you have a Tech Centre, and Rocket Artillery and Russia's Long-range Missile System after Advanced Tech.

Unlocks tanks, anti-air, the Airfield and warships while it stands. Research Advanced Tech here for the late-game units and your support power, plus upgrades for your army (see the tech tree).

Builds helicopters, and jets after Advanced Tech. It holds 4 jets, which land on its runway to rearm; build another Airfield or an Aircraft Carrier for more.

Builds Drone Swarms, and launches China's Summon Drones support power.

Goes on any shoreline, even far from your base. Builds Patrol Boats and Landing Craft; with a Tech Centre Destroyers, Submarines and China's Fast Attack Craft and Drone Boats; after Advanced Tech the Aircraft Carrier, the US Assault Ship and Russia's Missile Cruiser. Repairs your ships moored off its slip.

Fast-firing. Shreds infantry and aircraft, weak against armour.
Hits ground + air · 10 every 0.25 s · 32 m

Missiles that are strong against vehicles and also hit aircraft. Weak against infantry.
Hits ground + air · 2 × 35 every 2.5 s · 40 m

Goes near the water. Outranges a Destroyer and shells ships and anything else near the coast.
Hits ground · 150 every 3.5 s · 85 m

Goes near the water. Anti-ship missiles with the longest reach on the coast; they hit only ships.
Hits ships only · 2 × 160 every 8 s · 100 m

Up to 2 infantry squads take cover inside: they can't be hurt and shoot 20% further. If the bunker falls, they come out hurt.

No weapon. At night its sweeping beam sees 60 m all round, twice as far as other buildings, so raiders can't creep up in the dark. By day it sees like any building.

Drag out a line of wall, with a gate if you want one. Gates open for you and your allies only. Put a turret next to a post and the post becomes a tower with the turret on top. Walls take no power.
Pays its owner $600 a minute.
Shows enemy units on your minimap while you or a teammate hold it.
Repairs your ground units within 15 m, 2% of their health a second.
Riverside District only. Heals your infantry squads within 15 m, 2% a second.
Ruined farmsteads on Desert Crossing, and shops, flats, offices and other city buildings on Riverside. Infantry from any side can move into an empty one and fire out from cover; when they leave, it's neutral again.
To capture a neutral building, select an Engineer Team and tap it: after 6 seconds it's yours and the team is used up. Neutral buildings can't be attacked. Costs and health are first-pass.
From the first minute: Command Centre, Power Plant, Mine, Oil Rig, Barracks with every squad, Vehicle Factory with IFVs and Scout Cars, Shipyard with Patrol Boats and Landing Craft, Gatling Turret, Bunker, walls and the Searchlight Tower.
While one stands: Tanks and Anti-Air, the Airfield with Attack and Transport Helicopters, Destroyers and Submarines, the Missile Turret and Coastal Batteries; for China the Drone Command Centre with its Drone Swarms, Fast Attack Craft and Drone Boats.
At the Tech Centre: Rocket Artillery, Attack and Stealth Jets, the Aircraft Carrier, the US Stealth Bomber and Assault Ship, Russia's Long-range Missile System and Missile Cruiser, and your nation's support power.
Lose every Tech Centre and stage 2 and 3 units can't be ordered until you build another (Advanced Tech stays researched). Locked cards show a padlock; hold one to see what it needs. Choose TECH TREE off in the match options to have everything open from the start.

Unlocks the late-game units and your nation's support power. It stays researched even if you lose the Tech Centre.

Mines, Oil Rigs and Sea Oil Rigs bring in 20% more.

Infantry squads and Engineer Teams get 25% more health.

Infantry squads do 20% more damage.

Ground vehicles get 20% more health, and extra armour plates you can see.

Ground vehicles drive 15% faster.

Aircraft take 25% less damage from missiles, and carry flare pods.

Jets carry ammo for one more attack run before they rearm.

Ground vehicles and defence turrets shoot 15% further.

Engineers build 25% faster.

Turrets, walls, wall towers and bunkers get 25% more health.
Each upgrade is researched once a match, at the building named on its card, and counts for units already on the field. A building makes nothing else while it researches; selling it gives the research money back.
Meet the units each nation brings, or read the short answers in the FAQ.

A modern real-time strategy game for Android phones. You build a base, fight over money, oil and energy, and command tanks, infantry, aircraft and ships for the US, Russia or China. It's made for touch screens, with battles of hundreds of units at once.
Not yet: a campaign is planned for later (see the roadmap). For now you set up your own battles: pick a map and its size, up to 8 sides, teams, and AI generals on Easy, Medium, Hard or Brutal. There are also challenges, such as Last Stand (hold out 15 minutes against three Hard AIs), Shoestring (start with only $1,000) and battles at night or in a storm. Mission packs on the same maps are planned as free updates.
Not yet. Online play is planned as one of the first big updates after early access (see the roadmap). Until then you can team up with AI allies against AI enemies, and the game will always be fully playable offline.
Seven: Desert Crossing, Riverside District, The Strait, Tropical Islands, Devastated City, Alpine Village and Fjord Valley, each in three sizes from 1 to 2 km across, for 4 to 8 players. See the maps.
No. Units are named by type (Tank, IFV, Attack Helicopter), and their models are our own designs, not copies of real vehicles. The three nations play differently, but no real insignia appear in the game.
Tap a unit to select it and double-tap the ground to move. Hold still for a moment, then drag to select a group. Pinch to zoom and twist with two fingers to turn the view. Buttons on screen give the rest: attack-move, hold fire, hold position, control groups and game speed from half to 8×. If holding still is hard, the BOX button makes the next drag a selection box. The TUTORIAL on the main menu walks you through your first battle, and How to play has the rest.
Yes. Your match saves itself every 2 minutes, when you leave the app and when you go to the main menu. CONTINUE on the main menu picks it up where you left off.
The game is free, and so are new maps and updates. It's never pay-to-win: nothing you can buy makes your units stronger. If you want to help, an optional Supporter badge (£2.99, buy it again to level it up) shows in the game. Supporter goes live at launch.
No ads at launch. If that ever changes, ads would be optional and never during a match.
Android 8.0 or newer, 64-bit. Graphics settings run from Low to Ultra, with a 30 or 60 fps choice, so older phones can keep battles smooth. We test with 700 tanks fighting at once.
Yes, later. Android comes first.
English first. German, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian are planned.
Very little. Your settings, records and saved match stay on your phone, and there's no account, no ads and no tracking. When the game crashes it sends a crash report to Unity, the maker of the game engine, so we can fix it. Only if you say yes to SHARE DATA does it also send anonymous numbers about your battles and how the game runs on your phone; change it any time in the GAMEPLAY settings. The privacy policy has the details.
Right now: getting ready for the closed test, with a balance pass, checks on cheaper phones, the store page, this website and the Discord. Online play comes after early access. The roadmap shows it all.
Testing starts with a closed test on Google Play for players from our Discord. There's no release date yet; news will be posted here and on Discord.
In the game, REPORT A BUG on the pause screen or in Settings sends what happened with a picture and the game's log. Ideas and anything else: email support@ironsovereigngame.com. Once the Discord invite is up, testers can talk to us there too.
